H5/HoF Campaigns for ToE
If you played the Tribes of the East campaigns, you had a glance at the end of a saga, that started in Heroes 5, was pursued in its first addon Hammers of Fate, and only met its conclusion in the last addon. Whether you played them already or not, you might want to delve into the whole story, including the first 9 chapters. This is now possible, with all bells and whistles, with the added bonus of getting all the Tribes of the East features, thus giving a new life to this revisit.
Texts and dialog voices are available in multiple languages, and you can mix and match them as you prefer. Dialog voices are an optional download: the dialogs will still be displayed and watchable, with only the subtitles and environment sounds. The huge "cutscenes" files unlocks the 6 more detailed cutscenes that mark out key events in Heroes 5 campaigns (end of C1M4 and C1M5 for instance).
Download the campaigns
Place the following files in the UserMODs/ folder, and the H5, HoF and ToE campaigns will all be available at the same time:
If you already made some progress in the ToE campaigns, the unlocked missions will still be available. The campaigns are chained like they were originally, but the HoF campaigns can be started without finishing the H5 campaigns, and likewise finishing the HoF campaigns is not required to play the ToE campaigns.
Heroes 5 Original Look'n Feel
If you want to replay the original H5 campaigns with their complete look'n feel, then try out these additional packages for the "All Campaigns mod":
- H5 look'n feel (39.7Mb) - launch bin/H5_Game.H5.exe to play - savegames in SavH5/
- HoF look'n feel (25.3Mb) - launch bin/H5_Game.HoF.exe to play - savegames in SavA1/
To use a package, just unpack the contents of the archive in ToE installation folder, and lauch the modified executable. You will enjoy the original icons, splash screen, mainmenu, intro/outro... and campaigns. The "All Campaigns mod" is required.
Your profile will be shared with vanilla ToE, but H5inToE and HoFinToE will keep their savegames in their own subfolder in the profile folder.
To uninstall a package, just delete the files it added (no files were replaced).
About Dialog Scenes and Cutscenes
Dialog scenes and cutscenes should not be confused: dialog scenes are the standard several-per-mission kind, while cutscenes are the 6 more detailed lip-synched sequences. Both use the game engine in real time though, contrary to the intro and outro sequence of Heroes 5 campaigns which are full-rendered videos (you'll see them if you use the H5 look'n feel pack below).
The cutscenes will be performed in your ToE default dialog (even if you chose another language for the dialog scenes). They are actually already installed with ToE as ogg Vorbis audio files in music\CS\.
The intro and outro videos are encoded with the Theora codec inside an ogm container, and can be read outside of the game by any good player like VLC.

The maps are the original work of Ubisoft and Nival. All the files have been gathered, edited, updated and packaged by sfidanza.
